Choco Home Run Ball 초코 홈런볼

♥ brought this much Choco Home Run Ball  초코 홈런볼  by Haitai 해태...^^~

Here are the actual contents. Yes, they do look like mini cream puffs.

Based on this picture, you can estimate that one pack this size has about 20-21 chocolate-filled puffs...er... home run balls 홈런볼스?

The puffs have tiny holes were the creamy chocolate filling must have been pumped in. They're not there to achieve a donut or cream puff look, are they? I even read that some Koreans call it a butt hole  똥고. ^o^
Product Name: Home Run Ball...홈런볼... it reads the same way as it's spelled...(homreonbol). I bet you know what a home run ball is... WIN~!

Hole in the Pocket: from ♥... probably not more than PhP 80. But I really  don't know. ^^;

First Impression: The baseball theme is obvious. There's a kid with a baseball bat ready to hit a home run. However, I don't know the connection between cream puffs, chocolate and baseball. But if I were to over think it... maybe it's so delicious, it hits the home run spot of my stomach! I also think the container is a little too spacious for the 20 pcs. or so of puffs which means that you have to finish eating it all or find a sealed container for the leftovers. Or in my case, find a sticky tape or stapler and seal it so tight that no air shall pass!

Taste Buds Say: It's oddly not crunchy, but more like a chewy/aired out cream puff. It actually looks like baby/mini cream puffs. You can just let it melt in your mouth and suck the living chocolate out of it. haha! Kidding aside, it's a really good alternative for chocolate cream puffs. The chocolate is not very sweet and the dough covering tastes like plain cookie (minus the crunch!). For me, eating home run ball 홈런볼 is not very fulfilling because it's not that heavy of a snack. Anyway, I feel the same way about eating cream puffs.

Reminds me of: Like I said... choco cream puffs.

K-rating: 3/5... I'm not really a fan of cream puff...or baseball.

Custard (Lotte) 카스타드 (롯데)

Lotte's Custard (Original) 롯데 카스타드 오리지널

~ 행복 찾기... Finding Happiness ~

Individually wrapped custard cupcakes for your happiness.

The custard wasn't overflowing, but it was soft and delectable.

Product Name: Custard 카스타드... plain creamy custard.

Hole in the Pocket: I dunno, this was a direct import from ♥. Just check your friendly neighborhood Korean grocery store.

First Impression: Packaging is simple and kind to the eyes (with all the green). The custard cake looks packed with creamy filling. Also looks like mamon (Filipino sponge cake).

Taste buds say: Yummy, a little on the sweet side, but still tastes good. I like eating it with tea or other unsweetened drinks (water? yes, that too). Although it's not good to eat when you're trying to fight hunger, because you might need 3 - 4 pieces to even feel a wee bit full. It's just great as a light snack in between meals.

Reminds me of: Mamon and other custard cupcakes...^^;;

K-rating: 3/5 ... simply custard.

Bungeo Samanco 붕어 싸만코

Bungeo Samanco  붕어 싸만코 since 1991.

The fish pops out! What you see is what you get.

Bite into a fin without worries of dripping all over the place. Bungeo Samanco  붕어 싸만코 is compact and creamy.

3 Layers of Yummy Goodness: crisp wafer, sweet red bean paste (팥), and soft vanilla ice cream.
Product Name: Bungeo Samanco  붕어 싸만코... 붕어 is a fish (Carp) and 싸만코.... hmmm.... 싸만코.... if I use my limited Korean language skills, I'd say it means cheap (싸) only (만) nose (코), but that is WRONG. According to a my boyfriend who did a search online ('coz he also had no idea), a guy asked the Binggrae company what 싸만코 meant, he said that 싸만코 was like an "ice cream in a sandwich" or "sandwich type of ice cream." If anybody knows the exact meaning... share the knowledge! ;)

Hole in the Pocket: Php 40 - 60 (prices vary in each store)

First Impression: If I didn't know any better, I'd say this was "fish flavored ice cream" (as most people think too whenever I introduce it to them). But why would a fish flavored ice cream last for many years, right? So it's not fish flavored, but rather it's like the ice cream version of 붕어빵, a fish-shaped Korean pastry.

Taste buds say: Delicious overload! One of the best ice creams I've ever had (one of the cutest too)! Biting into the wafer and savoring the bean paste with the vanilla ice cream is oh so heavenly...~

Reminds me of: Nothing I've ever had before.

K-rating: 5/5... It's worth the raves!
